Read about SMM Conference in December’s issue

The 2012 Small Market Meetings Conference and Jacksonville, Fla., will be in the spotlight next month, as we give readers a wrap-up of the goings-on at the third-annual conference, held Oct. 28-30 at the Hyatt Regency Riverfront in downtown Jacksonville.

Stories will cover all of the conference’s events, from educational seminars to evening events such as the Sunday night opening reception at the One Ocean Resort and Spa in nearby Atlantic Beach.

“We realize many meeting planners would like to attend the conference but can’t fit it into their schedule,” said Mac Lacy, publisher of Small Market Meetings and a partner for the Small Market Meetings Conference.

“Through our stories, we’ll give our readers a better understanding of what our conference is all about through interviews with the meeting planners and suppliers who attend. We’ll also include highlights from the seminars given by our expert speakers who will be covering networking, legal issues and improvisation.”

Those who’ve never been to Jacksonville will get a better grasp of the city by reading stories about the venues and attractions that meeting planners  see during Monday afternoon’s city tours.

There will also be feedback from planners and suppliers on the value of their prearranged appointments.

And, of course, the winner of the Diamond Drop, held during Tuesday’s farewell luncheon, will be announced.

The SMM Conference is complimentary to qualified meeting planners.

In addition to conference registration, planners receive up to $400 in travel expenses, a free two-night hotel stay and complimentary meals, social events and entertainment.
