Riverhouse Hotel and Convention Center Completes Major Technology Upgrade

BEND, Oregon — Riverhouse Hotel and Convention Center, a full-service hotel and central Oregon’s largest convention center, overlooking the picturesque Deschutes River, has completed a major technology upgrade.

The upgrade to the 30,000-square-foot, LEED-certified Riverhouse Convention Center comes after the purchase of the Riverhouse Hotel in March by Vancouver-based Vesta Hospitality, a hotel acquisition, development and management company, which is also planning a roughly $8 million renovation to the guest room and dining facilities.

Riverhouse is surrounded by beautiful walking and hiking trails around the Deschutes River and is situated within walking distance of Bend’s numerous retail districts and breweries, and just a short drive from the famed Mount Bachelor Ski Resort.

The Riverhouse Convention Center houses the largest single meeting room in central Oregon and is able to accommodate more than 1,000 guests for seated meals and more than 1,700 for receptions. The convention center was built using environmentally sustainable construction techniques and materials, including lumber from trees on the property, and has high-efficiency heating and cooling systems.

“The Riverhouse Convention Center needed very little work as a standalone property; however, with technology changing so quickly, much of the audio and visual equipment was dated, and we want to ensure our guests and meeting clients have a seamless experience when hosting an event in our facility,” said Rick Takach, CEO of Vesta Hospitality. “We worked with a local company to execute the upgrade, which gives us access to on-site support and ensures reliability.”

Upgrades to the Convention Center will ensure that the Riverhouse is able to provide the most up-to-date technology available to its guests and includes:

l a complete rewire to allow for HDMI connectivity

l synchronization of video signal to ensure a seamless experience

l improved wireless microphone signal strength

l visual displays in hallways featuring full HD digital signage that brands meeting rooms and gives direction clearly

The work was completed by locally owned  Audio Visual Bend. The company specializes in commercial technology packages.
