Saddle Up at the New Mexico Farm

Entertainment

Most museums are fairly static by nature, but that’s not the case with the New Mexico Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum. This museum prides itself on being an interactive space that tells the full story of New Mexico agriculture. Event guests receive free admission to the museum and can spend their free time exploring the more than 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor exhibit space, from the Skaggs Dairy Barn to the Antique Equipment Park. Other exciting exhibits are the Sheep and Goat Barn and the Beef Barn, which give an inside look into cowboy life and the history of the beef industry in New Mexico.

Digging In

Telling the story of New Mexico agriculture wouldn’t be as fun without a few chances to get your hands a little dirty, and this museum makes sure there are tons of opportunities for meeting groups to dig right into the fun. Groups can join in on numerous demonstrations, from blacksmithing and weaving to cow milking and wool spinning, or they can jump on the bandwagon — a stagecoach or a horseback ride — for a livestock tour around the property. With a little planning, the event staff can arrange for a stroll through the orchards and vineyards or set up a harvest cooking class.
