DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Florida — Central Florida’s only AAA Four-Diamond oceanfront resort, the Shores Resort and Spa, has completed a six-month propertywide transformation. From guest rooms and outdoor areas to a new private dining facility and enhancements throughout more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, the award-winning resort received a top-to-bottom update.
Starting at the top, the 11th-floor meeting rooms have been transformed with a fresh new design that features a palette of ocean blues and sandy-beach neutral tones inspired by the water views available from each room. On the ground floor, the 6,895-square-foot Grand Ballroom is refreshed with new carpeting, paint and decor, with a new prefunction area that pays homage to the golden age of travel in Daytona Beach.
Technology upgrades include increased 100-mpbs wireless bandwidth throughout the property and a new 80-inch flat-screen monitor with a built-in audiovisual package in the Surf Boardroom. A new private dining room has been added on the second floor overlooking the Azure Lounge area; it accommodates up to 20 guests and features ocean views. Outside, the Outdoor Terrace received an upgraded sound system, new banquet equipment and lighting for year-round events.
Guest room corridors and all 212 guest rooms and suites feature new carpeting and an upgrade from double to queen beds, in addition to new sofa beds, ottomans, office chairs, high-definition televisions, drapery and balcony patio furniture. In addition, the resort has transformed 14 lanai rooms into Cabana Suites, giving guests a private outdoor space that connects to their guest room and includes a flat-screen television, a ceiling fan, private lounge chairs and a comfortable seating area.
The resort’s outdoor area received new seating areas around the fire pits, as well as a turtle-friendly lighting package, creating a pleasant ambiance along the Atlantic all year long.
