Small Market Meetings Summit Facilitates Networking in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, Texas —  More than 60 meeting planners and destinations gathered in Fort Worth, Texas, May 2–3, for the 2022 Small Market Meetings Summit. The Summit is a brief, highly targeted meeting that allows planners and destination representatives to arrive one day and leave the next with dozens of new contacts for future meetings.

The meeting was held at the Marriott Hotel & Golf Club at Champions Circle in Fort Worth. Visit Fort Worth and the Marriott hosted a stellar western-themed event in the hotel’s Paddock venue on the day of arrival for delegates that included live music, food and signature cocktails, and lots of social time in the venue’s rustic indoor/outdoor setting.

Planner Rosa McArthur, from Costa Mesa, California, was one of the many attendees who utilized the Summit to find new sites for the dozens of meetings she plans for her clients.

“Some of my largest clients are in the biotech industry,” said McArthur. “I plan meetings for their advisory boards, which are 25–30 attendees, their clinical meetings that have 150–175 attendees, their two or three-day training programs for maybe 250, and their national meeting for up to 800. Those include incentives, community service days, breakout sessions and dine-arounds throughout the destination. I use second and third-tier cities quite often.”
