SMMC’s 2012 post-conference survey results

The results are back from a post-conference survey of the 2012 Small Market Meetings Conference in Jacksonville, Fla., Oct. 28-30. Responses from meeting planner attendees were favorable; for example, 97 percent said that they would do business with a supplier that they met at the SMMC Marketplace.

Jacksonville impressed the majority of planners as 95 percent said they would consider Jacksonville as a conference destination. The Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront was ranked as an excellent or very good convention property by 88 percent of the planners who responded.

Among the three seminar speakers, Laura Schwartz was top rated for her talk on making the most of networking opportunities. Meeting planners also found Nathan Breen’s talk on contracts “informative.” Meeting planners said that Jessie Shternshus’ presentation on improv communication was fun and “interactive” and “unique.”

The Marketplace’s face-to-face appointments were rated excellent or very good by 85 percent of meeting planners. The overall Small Market Meetings experience was ranked excellent or very good by 83 percent.
