Southwest Nevada’s Lakes and Rivers

Henderson

Only a short drive from Las Vegas and all its amenities, Henderson is a fun meeting town that can hold its own. With a variety of meeting venues, dining experiences and outdoor activities, including a revival of Lake Las Vegas, meeting attendees will never want for things to do.

The Henderson Convention Center, in Henderson’s historic Water Street District, offers more than 13,000 square feet of convention and meeting space. There are a variety of seating and setup options, from banquet tables for 20 people to theater seating for 1,000 attendees.

The Henderson Events Plaza, which is adjacent to the convention center, has 2.7 acres with 60,000 square feet of outdoor event space, including an amphitheater with seating for more than 900 people. Another outdoor option is the Henderson Pavilion in the Green Valley community, a 2,500-seat venue for large conventions and events.

Green Valley Ranch is a resort with more than 65,000 square feet of meeting space and 495 guest rooms. Groups of 50 to 5,000 can be accommodated. A conference center and ballrooms, as well as 12 breakout meeting rooms, are available.

The Westin Lake Las Vegas Resort and Spa has more than 45,000 square feet of function space, as well as 50,000 square feet of exterior meeting space that features gardens and spots overlooking the lake. The resort is capable of accommodating 15 to 2,100 guests and has a variety of spaces and ballrooms from which to choose.

The Aston MonteLago Village Resort and Lake Las Vegas Conference Center specializes in conferences and meetings for 10 to 200 people. It has 4,000 square feet of indoor meeting and banquet space and 6,000 square feet of outdoor lakeside patio space.

Henderson offers a wide variety of cuisines. Marssa at Westin Lake Las Vegas offers award-winning Japanese and Asian-Fusion cuisine, and Hank’s Fine Steaks at Green Valley Ranch features quality meats. Both restaurants have won the AAA Four Diamond Award. Bratalian Neopolitan Cantina, whose owner, Chef Carla Pellagrin, has been featured on Top Chef, serves Naples-inspired dishes straight from Italy. Jayde Fuzion at M Resort is the Grand Prize Dining Venue of Food Network’s Restaurant Express and combines Japanese, Chinese and Korean flavors.

For Ed Kirby, the national sales manager for the City of Henderson Department of Cultural Arts and Tourism, the biggest attraction for Henderson is Lake Las Vegas.

“We’ve really become an outdoor destination,” Kirby said. “We have golf, cycling, hiking, biking and water sports like fishing and kayaking. Lake Las Vegas is really coming back.”
