TEXARKANA, Texas – Texarkana’s first full-service hotel and convention center opened its doors Oct. 8. The 154-room Hilton Garden Inn connects guests to the 25,000-square-foot Texarkana Convention Center.
“We’ve owned and managed hotels and restaurants in Texarkana for more than 20 years, and the opening of this hotel, our fifth in the city, along with the new convention center, present unique opportunities for unprecedented growth in Texarkana,” said Jack Daugherty, partner of the Daugherty Property Group. “We are extremely excited about the potential impact the Texarkana Convention Center will have for the greater Texarkana area for years to come.”
The convention center offers flexible meeting space for up to 1,500 guests, including a 6,000-square-foot outdoor event plaza and covered patio. The center is near downtown attractions and is five minutes from the Texarkana Regional Airport.
Already the Toyota Tundra Bass Masters Event, Arkansas Audubon Society and Texas Association of School Board Leaders have booked the hotel and convention center. Officials project that the Texarkana Convention Center will attract more than 150,000 attendees in its first year of operation.
