CHARLESTON, South Carolina — Located on the scenic Charleston Harbor, The Cooper is now accepting reservations for overnight guests starting March 1, 2026. As the city’s first luxury waterfront hotel on the peninsula, this 191-room property is set to redefine hospitality in Charleston, offering an unprecedented urban hotel experience.
The Cooper will offer more than 20,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space. Highlights include the 4,000-square-foot Grand Lawn for open-air events of up to 400 guests; a refined 5,655-square-foot Ballroom with harbor views and flexible layouts; a versatile salon for groups of 10 to 100; and an intimate boardroom featuring sweeping river views.
Designed with intention in every detail, The Cooper offers a rare connection to the water, along with elevated service and a sense of place that is unmistakably Charleston.
“Charleston’s waterfront is one of the city’s greatest assets and perhaps one of its most underutilized,” said Casey Lavin, president of Beemok Hospitality Collection (BHC). “Upon opening, The Cooper will stake its claim as a vibrant waterfront destination, inviting both locals and travelers to experience it in a way that blends Southern warmth with a refined, cosmopolitan perspective.”
Just steps from Joe Riley Waterfront Park, The Cooper will offer 191 luxurious guest rooms, including 20 suites, thoughtfully designed with a serene neutral palette, wide-plank light oak floors and classic shiplap wall paneling. Many rooms also feature private balconies, allowing guests to enjoy the breeze and take in waterfront and downtown city views.
This coastal property will offer guests an array of exceptional amenities throughout their stay, including four distinct food and beverage destinations. The Crossing is the hotel’s signature restaurant, featuring flavors from the Mediterranean with local ingredients and Southern hospitality. The restaurant has 196 seats and waterfront views, a private dining room and chef’s table, along with a large circular bar and a raw bar.
CurrentBurger will be a modern twist on the classic soda shop, offering an all-day menu of smash burgers, fries, fountain sodas, hand-spun milkshakes, and soft serve ice cream
Overlooking The Cooper Marina, Cooper Coffee & Wine is all-day cafe that will transition from a coffee and breakfast destination to a warm, intimate wine bar by evening. Perched on the fourth floor overlooking the harbor, Bar Marti will be a lively, guests-only poolside bar and dining destination, offering light, fresh fare and handcrafted cocktails in an open-air setting.
For wellness seekers, The Cooper will also offer the 7,000-square-foot Spa at The Cooper. Additional amenities include an on-site marina with a fleet of luxury vessels available for guest excursions, dinner cruises, and private events; a rooftop infinity pool with cabanas and sweeping harbor views; and personal concierge service for guests.
As a BHC property, hotel guests will also receive access to other entities within the brand’s portfolio, including its flagship property, The Charleston Place; the multi-level Italian restaurant concept, Sorelle; a new community greenspace in the heart of downtown Charleston, American Gardens, and more to round out the urban hotel experience.
