ATLANTA — Voco The Shelby Myrtle Beach is set to open this month, bringing a new upscale boutique hotel to the central Myrtle Beach coast. The hotel is accepting reservations for stays beginning June 30.
The property’s venues range from intimate meeting rooms to larger banquet areas, with state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment and customizable layouts to cater to groups of all sizes. The hotel has 1,350 square feet of flexible meeting space for up to 225 people, and a 3,035-square-foot outdoor courtyard ideal for receptions and networking events.
The retro-inspired resort offers 242 guest rooms and suites that boast ocean views and playful, modern decor.
The Shelby Beach Club is the hotel’s tiki-inspired bar by the shoreline, featuring lively music, craft cocktails and light bites, while The Palm & Pebble is a full-service restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
In addition to direct beach access, the resort has a private pool area with a large outdoor pool and a lazy river that both provide views of the sand and surf. The hotel will also offer brand-new pickleball courts located just steps from the beach and a 24-hour fitness center.
Voco The Shelby Myrtle Beach is within walking distance to some of Myrtle Beach’s most popular attractions, including the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, SkyWheel and Broadway at the Beach, while golf lovers will find PGA Tour-caliber courses at Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach.
Thomas Cook has been named general manager of the new oceanfront property. As general manager at Voco The Shelby Myrtle Beach, Cook brings over 20 years of leadership experience to the new upscale boutique hotel. Cook has experience across the mortgage, food and beverage, and hospitality industries, and he most recently served as the pre-opening AGM/Acting GM at Ocean Enclave, Hilton Grand Vacations in Myrtle Beach.
