The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort Unveils $45-Million Property-Wide Transformation

The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort recently completed its $45 million property-wide transformation, reimagining the resort while elevating the property to a new level. Timed to its 15th anniversary, the scope of the resort’s renovation spanned all common areas and public spaces, redesigned suites and guest rooms, introduced five beachfront villas, enhanced The St. Regis Spa, launched new restaurants and bar concepts, updated the resort’s outdoor wedding venues and debuted the Marietas Pool, featuring views of Islas Marietas National Park.

“We are honored to redefine the pinnacle of luxury in Riviera Nayarit as the St. Regis Punta Mita steps into its next chapter,” said Hugo Desenzani, area managing director of luxury, Marriott International. “With a timeless design that blends traditional elegance with modern charm, coupled with our commitment to offering distinguished service and unparalleled experiences, our comprehensive transformation will undoubtedly leave a lasting effect on luxury hospitality in Mexico.”

The Punta Mita resort features over 8,200 square feet of event space across 9 rooms with four additional outdoor spaces. The hotel’s largest event space, the Astor Ballroom is  just over 2,500 square feet and can accommodate up to 180 attendees. The largest outdoor event space, Marietas Beach can accommodate up to 400 reception-style.

Design

The enhanced design pays homage to the natural surroundings and the destination’s rich cultural heritage, creating a Mexican-Mediterranean feel. Inspired by local craftsmanship and architecture, the design incorporates natural textures and materials, including travertine marble, blown glass, clay ceilings, hammered brass and natural woods.

Guest Rooms, Suites and Villas

All the resort’s accommodations – including 120 guest rooms and beachfront villas and ocean- and garden-view suites – have been redesigned to include luxurious and locally inspired interiors featuring Mexican art, handcrafted furnishings and hacienda structures with a touch of rustic Provence.

The five residential-style beachfront villas range in size from one to three bedrooms and offer an elevated sense of privacy for guests, with reimagined outdoor terraces and personal lounge pools.

The St. Regis Spa

The St. Regis Spa unveiled new enhancements that elevate the outdoor facilities and treatment rooms. Resort guests can choose from a variety of signature therapies and treatments, complemented by access to indoor and outdoor lounge areas. In collaboration with a local shaman, the renovations include the addition of a Temazcal – an indigenous Mayan sweat lodge – to introduce an immersive, authentic and transformative experience deeply rooted in traditional healing practices to the destination.

Culinary

Encompassing five distinct culinary experiences all led by the resort’s newly appointed Executive Chef Pablo Arias, St. Regis Punta Mita introduced several new restaurants and a modern lobby bar as part of the renovation. The reimagined Mita Mary is an oceanfront dining experience celebrated for its locally sourced ingredients and fresh seafood dishes, offering both open-air tables and toes-in-the-sand seating. Additional culinary venues include a beachfront Nikkei cuisine concept situated at the adults-only pool, the vibrant lobby bar, and Las Marietas Restaurant and Bar, an all-day dining restaurant offering authentic Mexican and international cuisine. The new additions further enhance the resort’s food and beverage program, which includes the fine dining restaurant, Carolina.

Amenities and Recreation

In an effort to expand family-friendly offerings, the resort debuted a dual-level infinity pool, Marietas pool, with unobstructed ocean views and vistas of the Islas Marietas National Park, complemented by loungers, daybeds and cabanas. The resort also offers privileged access to two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, Pacifico and Bahia, alongside a variety of water sports, including snorkeling, kayaking, paddleboarding, seasonal whale watching experiences and more.
