Topping Out Ceremony Celebrated for Opal Sol Resort in Clearwater Beach

MANCHESTER, United Kingdom — Moss Construction and Opal Sol recently held a “topping out” ceremony to celebrate the new hotel in Clearwater Beach, Florida, reaching its final height with the completion of the outer structure.

This centuries-old tradition, which hoists a tree atop a new structure for good luck, recognizes and celebrates the hard work and dedication of the skilled laborers and the entire team.

The milestone marks the next phase of construction for the all-suite resort. Crews will now begin framing 248 suites as well as the resort’s luxury amenities, which will include three pools – two with waterfront views – the full-service Opal Spa and four unique restaurant concepts, including the resort’s marquee Drift restaurant.

With a curved design that mirrors its sister Opal Collection property, Opal Sands, each of Opal Sol’s 248 suites – ranging from studio to three bedrooms – will offer unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico. Both resorts will be connected via an elevated skyway bridge that will provide an opportunity for Opal Sol guests to enjoy shared privileges and additional dining and luxury amenities.

For meetings and events, Opal Sol will offer 57,194 square feet of event space. When combined with Opal Sands, the properties will boast over 106,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor and ancillary space that can accommodate groups of up to 700 attendees.

The resort is expected to open in early 2025. Meeting and event inquiries are now being accepted.
