TownePlace Suites by Marriott, part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, recently marked its 500th hotel with the opening of TownePlace Suites Richmond Colonial Heights in Virginia, the state where the brand opened its inaugural hotel in 1997.
Now, 26 years after its debut, TownePlace Suites has become one of Marriott International’s fastest-growing brands. In addition to the 500th opening in December, the all-suite, extended-hotel brand has hundreds of additional properties in the development pipeline, all within the U.S. and Canada.
All TownePlace Suites properties include pet-friendly accommodations, all-suite floor plans, full kitchens and upgraded outdoor space. After more than two decades, the brand continues to be a category leader, expanding in leisure and road trip destinations, including TownePlace Suites by Marriott Dallas Rockwall in Texas and TownePlace Suites by Marriott Tampa Clearwater in Florida.
Located just south of Richmond, the 131-room hotel offers studio or one-bedroom suites equipped with full kitchens and a customized Elfa closet system from The Container Store, which is available at all TownePlace Suites hotels. On property, guests can enjoy a complimentary hot breakfast, a full-service lobby bar and stainless steel Weber Grills in the hotel’s outdoor patio area, complete with tools, spices and seasoning for guest usage.
The property offers direct access to the Appomattox River Trail and is conveniently located near Virginia State University and Ft. Lee Gregg Adams Army base.
TownePlace Suites by Marriott offers accommodations for both business and leisure travelers with programs like Something Borrowed, which lends guests items they may need during their stay, such as countertop appliances, cooking utensils and board games.
