The 202-guest-room Holiday Inn Oceanfront Hilton Head Island will be renovated over the winter.
“Every dollar will be spent where you’re going to see it,” said Skip Young, director of sales and marketing. “And we’ll continue to be an affordable option for groups.”
The property’s 4,800 square feet of meeting space can accommodate groups of up to 350.
Hotel guests have the advantage of being within walking distance of Coligny Beach Park, known as “Hilton Head’s downtown,” with 60 shops and lots of eateries.
Popular with locals since 1976, the Holiday Inn’s beachfront Tiki Hut is a great spot to watch the annual races of South Carolina’s state horse, the marsh tacky, on the hard-packed beach.
