Hotel Options

The Isle Casino Hotel Waterloo features 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space along with 1,600 square feet of prefunction space. The ballroom accommodates from 250 to 400 people depending on the type of event.

At the 228-room Ramada Hotel, four meeting rooms with 600 to 700 square feet seat 50 to 75 in theater mode. The hotel is connected by skywalk to the convention center to serve the needs of larger groups.

For smaller groups, the Days Inn and Suites has a 1,056-square-foot meeting room for 75 to 100 attendees, along with a smaller room that can handle 20 to 40. The hotel has 112 sleeping rooms.

Dining and More

Waterloo offers a convenient selection of dining establishments, from national chains to locally owned restaurants. The downtown area features more than 20 restaurants within walking distance of hotels and shops. Local favorites include Waterloo Brown Bottle, a family-owned Italian eatery; Morg’s Diner, a 1950s-style diner; and Newton’s Paradise Café, a casual breakfast and lunch spot. Live music is featured at Screaming Eagle American Bar and Grill and Jameson’s Public House.

At Beck’s Taproom and Grill, patrons can select from a variety of beers as well as a full dining menu. It also offers banquet facilities for up to 100 seated guests.

Area Attractions

At the Waterloo Center for the Arts, visitors are treated to the largest collection of Haitian art in the country; the center also features Mexican art and Midwest regionalist art, including works by Grant Wood and Thomas Hart Benton. It has 15 indoor and outdoor meeting spaces, including a theater that seats 368 guests and a midsize room that accommodates 250.

The Grout Museum District, made up of several museums and historic buildings, features a variety of displays on topics from regional history and culture to natural sciences. Combined, the facilities have 10 meeting rooms with a total of more than 9,000 square feet of meeting space.
