Situated on a wooded ridge outside the Western Pennsylvania town of Foxburg, Six Senses RiverStone Estate will launch the historic estate’s next chapter when it opens in 2028. Marking the latest milestone in Six Senses’ entry into the Americas market, the country estate will echo the brand ethos of wellness and sustainability while offering guests and owners a community for connection and reflection.
Located about 90 minutes north of Pittsburgh, the property is close to three private airports and a short drive from Cleveland, Chicago, Philadelphia and New York.
The resort’s centerpiece is a three-story stone mansion carefully restored by the estate’s former owner. The property’s 77 new guest rooms will be woven into the contours of the 1,200-acre estate, which has over 50 miles of trails and 7 miles of riverfront. Forty branded residences will provide the feeling of a private country home with the benefits of the resort’s service team and amenities.
“Beyond memories, guests want more purpose and a greater takeaway from their stay,” said Neil Jacobs, CEO of Six Senses, which is part of IHG Hotels and Resorts’ Luxury and Lifestyle portfolio. “We are very thoughtful about the art, and often the science, of exceptional experiences based on emotional hospitality. Six Senses RiverStone Estate will provide an enchanting canvas for new layers of wellness programming, creative cuisine, meaningful connections and leaps of faith into new discoveries.”
Building a New Legacy
The property’s 13,000-square-foot stone mansion was constructed in the 1820s as a summer home for the Fox family, after whom the nearby town of Foxburg is named. The mansion will be further enhanced to serve as a centerpiece for the property, alongside a Victorian carriage house designed by Philadelphia architect Frank Furness.
Guest rooms and cottages blend an off-grid vibe with luxury amenities, offering guests space and seclusion. The branded residences will echo similar warm, uncluttered and sustainable living, delivering modern comforts along with a “slow life” ethos to unwind and find time for hiking, biking and foraging.
Six Senses RiverStone Estate will also feature an art program, comprising of a curated art gallery and a collection of studios for an artist-in-residence program that will be led by leaders in multiple art disciplines.
A Country Estate with a Wellness Focus
Six Senses RiverStone Estate will offer seasonal wellness and food and beverage offerings.
The 16,000-square-foot Six Senses Spa will be situated within the restored stone walls of the Fox Family’s English Garden. Facilities for indoor and outdoor classes, including meditation, stretching, yoga and Pilates, will be set among scenic views. In the evening, guests can sip a curated cocktail and stargaze with an astronomer.
The resort will also offer a 4,500-square-foot fitness center and a 25-meter active pool that borders the forest approximately 280 feet above the Allegheny River.
Cuisine will emphasize local and organic produce and game. Onsite farm-to-table dining will include a specialty restaurant, a central courtyard with smaller tasting bars and the Orchard Alley pop-up experience. With the “Eat with Six Senses” healthy eating approach, food is always as nutritious as it is delicious – even the house-made ice cream or maple syrup produced onsite from the property’s 5,000-plus maple trees.
The equestrian center will house a 22,000-square-foot indoor riding arena, 36 stalls with heated floors and quiet corners for equine therapy programs. Residential owners will be able to board their horses year-round, while guests and owners will also be able to access the facility’s offerings. Beyond equine, the estate is home to a variety of cows, sheep, goats, donkeys and chickens that produce fresh eggs daily.
Meetings and Events
Six Senses facilities are comprehensive and can cater for board meetings, incentives, prestigious events and product launches. The brand believes in business-as-unusual, providing an escape to the natural beauty and serenity of its resort locations, endeavoring to bring out the best in people.

Six Senses’ dedicated resort teams will help make your event memorable and successful in every way. They will arrange your meeting spaces and full support service, plus activities to guarantee the wow in your next corporate pow-wow.
