The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa Launches $10 Million Renovation

HILTON HEAD, South Carolina— The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa in South Carolina recently launched a $10 million renovation that will include the resort’s existing 416 guestrooms and grow to a total of 419 rooms, including 32 suites. The resort offers five onsite dining destinations, access to the Port Royal Golf and Racquet Club, nearly 39,000 square feet of flexible, multi-use, indoor and outdoor event space, as well as three beachside swimming pools, private beach access, poolside and beachside private cabanas, a fitness facility and more.

The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa offers a total of 22 event rooms and nearly 39,000 square feet of multi-use venue space. The Grand Ocean Terrace is an oceanfront space above the dunes with vaulted wood beam ceilings, sliding glass walls, and panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean. Other indoor spaces include the Mitchelville Gazebo Room and the Grand Ballroom – the resort’s largest event space. Outdoor options include an event deck, a courtyard the Koi Pond Gardens and the resort’s beach property.

The renovation officially kicked off in November, with a scheduled completion and reveal slated for spring 2023. During the renovation, the resort will remain open with no effect to other areas, allowing guests to use all the resort’s amenities.

The resort, located on Hilton Head Island’s white sand beaches, offers travelers a true Low Country experience. Listed on Conde Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards’ “Best Island in the US,” the oceanfront property captures the island’s charm and blends into its natural beachfront surroundings.

The resort has chosen Ellis Adams Design to transform each of the guest rooms and suites into an extension of the island’s natural landscape and create a luxurious coastal escape. Taking cues from surrounding nature, the resort’s refreshed accommodations will feature a color palette derived from the island’s sandy shores and marshlands, green foliage and blue skies.

“Since 1988, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa has been delivering approachable luxury with personalized service and energizing experiences, empowering guests to feel their best and make unforgettable memories,” said General Manager Mike Tighe. “This investment in refreshing our guest rooms and suites will truly provide our guests a sense of the island and allow us to maintain our positioning as a leading resort in the South.”

The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort and Spa offers eight different room types along with seven distinct suite options, all featuring balconies and Westin’s Signature Heavenly Bed. Renovated suites will include the Resort and Carolina King Suites as well as the Atlantic, Vice Presidential and Presidential suites, with additional plans to unveil two new specialty suites designed for families and group trips in the coming months.
