Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort Debuts Complete Renovation

BETHESDA, Maryland — The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort, a four-star luxury hotel on Jekyll Island, one of Georgia’s Golden Isles, recently unveiled a top-to-bottom renovation. The extensive overhaul includes redesigned rooms and suites, updated meeting and event spaces, and a transformed lobby with ocean views.

The property’s refreshed meeting space includes 5,160 square feet across four event rooms. Spanning 3,300 square feet, the Grand Ballroom can accommodate 350 guests or be halved into two separate rooms. The hotel has two additional meeting rooms, each about 700 square feet, and a 500-square-foot boardroom. For outdoor events, Palm Terrace overlooks the beach.

Inside the renovated guest rooms and suites, guests will find coastal-inspired decor, with blue- and sand-colored accents, shiplap wall panels, natural light, and fabrics in neutral, calming tones. Some guest rooms feature private balconies and ocean views.

Last summer, the resort relaunched its culinary program in consultation with Chef Lindsay Autry, a three-time James Beard award nominee. Three distinct restaurant concepts have officially opened: Willet’s Lowcountry, serving coastal Southern cuisine; Pour Tabby, a quaint bar that sits adjacent to an oversized veranda; and Salty’s, a poolside grill that makes it easy to spend the day at the beach or by the pool. Open to visitors and locals alike, each venue capitalizes on the bounty of local seafood, and new menus designed by Chef Autry feature her Southern-meets-Mediterranean cooking style.

Other changes include new guest experiences that are designed to connect visitors to the destination, such as historical tours and marine biology walks.
