Already, meeting planner registration for this year’s SMM Conference has exceeded last year’s attendance. Two meeting planners explain why, after attending last year’s conference, they are making a point to return for this year’s.
LaTonia Cunningham with the Texas Health Research and Education Institute in Dallas:
“Being from a large area such as Dallas/Ft. Worth and working in a 15-member hospital system providing continuing medical education for approximately 5,500 physicians throughout our facilities, it was great to learn of the smaller venues when there are times we need a conference area that exceeds the capacity of some of the hospitals. We service a large number of rural areas and as we expand our learning opportunities beyond the counties in Texas, the information regarding the availability of venues will be great.
“I also became aware of the
company Cvent and as a result, utilized their services and selected a venue to host a dinner event scheduled to be held in Shreveport on Dec. 10 this year.”

“The experience allowed me to become familiar with properties that I may not have considered in the past. I was able to share the information with the government organization I represent as well as several national associations that I am or have been a member of. I was able to use the information to schedule a very successful conference.”
