RIVERTON, Wyo. – In May, the Northern Arapaho Tribe’s Wind River Hotel and Casino began a major expansion project that will add a convention center and double the size of the casino.
The casino added 90 rooms to the Wind River Hotel last year. The current expansion will add kitchen space, a food court and convention center space with a separate kitchen and breakout rooms. Construction is estimated to take several years and will be done in two phases.
“The new convention center space will be the size of the Little Wind Casino at Ethete,” said Jim Conrad, general manager. “We will be able to seat over 1,000 people there for dinner. It will be the largest convention floor in west-central Wyoming.”
The food court will feature different stations with various types of cuisine to mimic the food court experience typical of Las Vegas casinos.
The Northern Arapaho Tribe also operates the 789 Casino just south of Riverton, as well as the Little Wind Casino in Ethete.
