Yorktowne Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton Set to Open in November

YORK, Pennsylvania— The newly renovated Yorktowne Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton in York, Pennsylvania, plans to open in mid- to late-November.

The Yorketown Hotel has over 10,000 square feet of meeting space, the largest of which is the 3,700-square-foot Wellspan Ballroom. The property has several additional flexible spaces, including a smaller ballroom and conference rooms, as well as a rooftop bar and lounge.

Hilton recently announced that reservations can be made for the 123 guest room hotel on its brand website beginning December 2. Prior to the recent announcement, the presell date was set to January 1, 2023, according to standard Hilton policy for new hotel openings. The presell date is moved forward in phases as the hotel nears completion. The cushion is included to mitigate any delays associated with a new hotel opening, representing confidence in the November opening date.

The historic 1925 hotel closed in November 2016 for major renovations. It was originally slated to reopen in 2019, but faced a series of budget issues, along with the Covid-19 pandemic, supply chain disruptions and labor shortages, all of which delayed its reopening, according to an October 21 York Daily Record article.

The hotel is operated by GF Hotels & Resorts, a full-service ownership and management company specializing in hotels, resorts, golf courses and other related hospitality assets.

“Hilton Corporate is happy with the progress, and so are we,” said James Parker, the hotel’s director of sales and marketing. “Therefore, we are delighted that our presell date has been approved to move to December 2, just weeks from when we will open.”
