Seeking an intimate location for your meeting offering a sense of community and authenticity? Niche groups from sports to student groups to SMERF (social, military, educational, religious, and fraternal segments) have much success in hosting meetings in Puerto Rico.
With more than 1.3 million square feet of meeting space and over 15,000 guest rooms throughout the island, a world-class convention center and an increasing range of accommodation options, Puerto Rico continues its emergence as one of the most sought-after meeting destinations offering delegates a distinctive and memorable experience — for large and small meetings alike. With the recent renovations to several of our properties and additions to air service, and the opening of new properties, Puerto Rico is an attractive option for meeting and convention groups.
Groups such as the FIVB World Olympic Qualifier (2016) held its event this past May at the Hyatt Place San Juan and the NCAA Division II Basketball Classic) held its event at the Verdanza Hotel in November. Next year, the NCAA Clemente Cup will hold their March 6-13 event in Puerto Rico’s West Coast small inns.
“Puerto Rico has many hotels and products, many undergoing or recently completing renovations, that are particularly appealing to smaller, specialized niche groups seeking an intimate meeting setting,” said Milton Segarra, CEO and President of Meet Puerto Rico. “These groups can take over an entire facility providing an excellent sense of community, while still enjoying all of the authentic experiences Puerto Rico offers — from gastronomy and culture to nature and eco-tourism.”
