The property and retreat center is owned and operated by the Kansas District Council of the Assemblies of God. While once focused primarily on youth camps, the center has grown into a year-round destination and venue for ministry events of all kinds. Last year, Wheat State hosted over 30 groups for various off-site ministry events such as camps, conferences, and retreats.

These retreat packages are perfect for the planner looking for a budget-friendly venue and an attentive team! They include:
- Lodging – Overnight accommodations for up to 400 guests
- Dining – Three healthy meals served buffet-style
- Meeting – Private meeting space set up to your specifications with plug-and-play AV equipment
- Recreation – Indoor and outdoor activities are included at no extra charge
- Planning – A personal retreat planner assigned to your group to guide you from start to finish
Group leaders also receive access to free planning tools like budget templates, room assignment guides, and the Planner Central portal to simplify logistics and customization.
Lodging:
Wheat State offers dorm-style lodging, three hotel-style rooms, and 13 full RV hookup sites. The dorms are cozy, affordable, and furnished with bunk beds to give guests a classic camp-style experience. Hotel-style rooms provide an upgraded stay, making them an excellent option for guest speakers and group leaders. All hotel rooms have queen beds, ensuite bathrooms, and other elevated amenities such as a microwave, mini fridge, TV, and coffee maker.
Dining
At Wheat State, guests never lift a finger when it comes to meals. All retreat packages include three full meals daily, served buffet-style in the dining hall. The food is hearty, healthy, and thoughtfully prepared to help keep your group energized throughout the day.
Meeting
Whether you’re hosting a small group or a large gathering, Wheat State offers four spacious and attractive meeting spaces:
- Tabernacle: Their largest meeting space has a stage, lighting, sound booth, and seating for groups of up to 750.
- Musgrove Room: This practical meeting space is ideal for mid-size groups of up to 100.
- Greisen Hall: This recently renovated modern space features pine shiplap, a fun carpet, and a stylish black ceiling for a fun atmosphere.
- Dining Room Meeting Space: A flexible breakout is located on the second floor of the dining room for smaller groups.
All retreat packages include complimentary meeting space set up to your preferences and specifications prior to your arrival.
Recreation
When it’s time to unwind, Wheat State offers a wide range of recreation activities—all included in your package free of charge:

- Pickleball – normal or blacklight

- Disc Golf
Groups looking to elevate their experience can add Premium Recreation for a small fee! These staff-facilitated activities include:
- Bonfires
- Rock climbing
