Grand Hyatt DFW Airport Announces $34 Million Transformation

CHICAGO — Grand Hyatt DFW Airport, the premier hotel located inside Terminal D at the Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, announces a full-hotel renovation beginning in July, with completion expected in late 2025.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in July, the property transformation will kick off a multiphase renovation that will include updates to the hotel’s guest rooms and suites, improvements to the event spaces, enhancements to the restaurants and bars, and a re-envisioned lobby, guest lounges and corridors throughout the property. All phases are expected to be complete by the end of 2025.

“We are thrilled to announce Grand Hyatt DFW will undergo a transformation to provide international and domestic travelers and local residents with new, more refined accommodations, enhanced culinary experiences, and modernized conference and event spaces for meetings and groups,” said Jeff Babcock, general manager of Grand Hyatt DFW Airport. “In honor of our 20th year, the renovation will reinforce the hotel’s legacy as the premier hotel and event center supporting the international airport and connecting travelers to the Dallas Fort Worth culture and community.”

The hotel renovation will feature the history of aviation, the property’s Texas heritage, the latest technologies, and the luxurious amenities of which Grand Hyatt properties are known for by travelers worldwide.

Meetings and Events

With more than 20,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including a 6,600-square-foot ballroom, the final phase will unveil a new top-floor executive boardroom and an indoor-outdoor rooftop event space overlooking the airport runways. The renovation will include state-of-the-art technical facilities and in-house audiovisual support for corporate meetings and events and sophisticated celebrations.

Accommodations

In the initial phase of the renovation, the property will increase the number of guest rooms and suites from 298 to 315. The renovation will reflect an aeronautical design that is complemented by the style of a Texas landscape, featuring local woods like Red River Pecan and Yellow Pine.

Rooms will be accented by a color palette that includes shades of greens and natural blues to showcase the colors of the Western prairie. The comfortable Grand Hyatt beds will be complemented by stitched leather headboards and integrated lighting. Each guest room and suite will incorporate the latest state-of-the-art technologies, including large HD flat screen televisions and new charging ports. Guests will be able to customize their stay through integrated technologies, including eco-friendly occupancy thermostats, enhanced lighting controls and automatic blackout shades. Accommodations will include expansive closets and modern bathrooms with enlarged vanities, showers and tubs.

Restaurants and Lounges

A reimagined Grand Met restaurant and lounge will showcase a new style in dining at the airport, and its refreshed seasonal menus will offer new culinary experiences for guests and travelers alike. In addition to increased seating capacity at the restaurant and the lounge bar, the newly designed private and semiprivate dining rooms will be available for large and small parties.

Lobby, Corridors and Pool

The newly redesigned hotel lobby will include marble tile flooring and specially designed ceiling finishes with enhanced accent lighting, rich wooden paneling and artwork created by local artists. Hallways will offer plush carpet with a pattern inspired by the airport’s design, accented with warm colors of blues and browns. The state-of-the-art fitness center, which includes Peloton bicycles, will be located on the first floor, and guests will continue to benefit from an outdoor rooftop pool overlooking the runways of the airport.
