Tell me about some sites worth seeing.
History buffs revel in Delaware County’s ties to the Revolutionary War. George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette both battled the British in the Brandywine Valley. Among the historic sites are Brandywine Battlefield and Newlin Grist Mill, where wheat to feed the troops was ground.

Tell me about some offbeat spots for off-site events.
The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center in West Chester commemorates Delaware County’s role in the development of rotary-wing aircraft (aka helicopters). A collection of 35 helicopters add whirl to events.

Where can I get a true taste of Delaware County?

Brandywine Prime is as much a “meatery” as an eatery, known for its steaks and chops. Housed in an inn and tavern that predates the Revolutionary War, the restaurant has three private event spaces. It’s hard to know which is more special, the setting or the meals, at Paramour, in the Wayne Hotel on the Main Line. Sit in a brown wicker chair beneath a slow-moving fan on the veranda or book the Salon, with its fireplace and glittery chandelier, for a private meal. Media is known for its Restaurant Row, a regular United Nations of dining, with fare from France, Ireland, Italy, Thailand, Asia, Mexico, Spain and more. Servers burst into song on Monday nights at Fellini’s Cafe. Diego’s Cantina and Tequila Bar is known for its creativity with Mexico’s best-known spirit.
