Team Building: Working on a Ranch

Bond by herding cattle like cowboys across the Colorado’s high desert landscape at Zapata Ranch in Mosca, Colorado. The ranch offers a livestock operation, working ranch vacations, educational programs and customizable corporate retreats with team building.

Groups can work and drive cattle, ride through the bison herd and explore the nearby Sand Dunes National Park while guides help riders improve their riding skills. The 103,000-acre bison and guest ranch located along the eastern wall of the San Luis Valley of Southern Colorado even offers overnight pack trips by horseback into the nearby mountains.

Corporate groups can also leave with intimate knowledge of the modern rancher’s daily life with the lodge’s Ranching Experiences. These activities allow visitors to join real cowboys monitoring herd health, fixing fences, irrigating farmland and assessing pasture conditions. Participants safely aid in their work with real hands-on experience.

Owned by the Nature Conservancy, Zapata Ranch boasts an ecologically diverse landscape of high desert grasslands, alpine forests, wetlands, sand dunes and more. The site hosts corporate retreats with a private meeting room that seats up to 50.
