WinStar World Casino and Resort Opens Convention Center

On September 9, Chickasaw Nation Gov. Bill Anoatubby joined tribe dignitaries and local officials to cut the ribbon for the WinStar Convention Center in Thackerville, Oklahoma. The 66,950-square-foot facility sits on the southeast corner of the WinStar World Casino and Resort with direct access to the casino’s gaming floors and hotel towers.

“The design of the convention center enables multiple events to be held at the same time,” said Bill Lance, Chickasaw Nation Secretary of Commerce. “We took great consideration with the layout of the facility with the customer experience at the forefront of our planning. Guests can expect a world class experience whether it’s for an elegant wedding or a large, multi-day business conference.”

The center’s ballroom measures over 15,000 square feet with capacity for up to 1,000 people. Smaller groups can opt for the junior ballroom, which holds up to 700 guests. There are also three executive boardrooms and a kitchen for event catering.

Design elements strove for an elegant ambiance with details such as 17 chandeliers in the grand ballroom, each with hand-blown glass pieces. Construction began on April 2015.

The WinStar World Casino and Resort offers 7,400 electronic games, 98 table games and a 1,400-room hotel.
